On Friday May 29, 2015, Hood College announced that they have selected a new Director of Residence Life and Student Conduct, Mr. Matthew Troutman.
Troutman comes from the University of Mary Washington, Fredericksburg, Virginia where he served for three years as Associate Director of Residence Life of Housing and Operations. Troutman has also held positions as Associate Director of Housing and Residential Life and Assistant Direct of Residential Life at Kenyon College.
Troutman will be succeeding from Zachary Luhman who left Hood in the fall of 2015. Troutman’s first day will be on Monday, June 15.

For student in Model U.N., they represent positions and values of an assigned country in which they also adhere to official protocols when speaking, negotiating and drafting resolutions.
“We hear about all these scary things going on all over the world and, though we don’t always understand everything about them, we are quick to take very simplistic positions on very complex issues,” said Marko Petric, President and Head Delegate of Model U.N.
“It is our job to represent the school and make a name for ourselves amongst the competition, so we prepare extensively for the conference,” said Chad Allen, Vice-President of Model U.N.
The members of Hood College’s Model U.N. are Chad Allen (‘17), Andela Golemac (‘17), Abigail Jines (‘18), Lydia Jines (‘17), Léa Marot, Kyle Oakes (‘16), Marko Petric (‘16), Nailah Russell (‘18), Tyler Shuck (‘17), Sophie Smith (‘18), Ivana Soce (‘16) and Maja Tavra (‘15).
